New York State Department of Labor Mold Assessor Initial Training Course

$750This 32 hour course will provide the required training for professionals who will perform mold inspections and design mold remediation plans. Under New York State Law it is unlawful for any contractor to engage in mold assessment, or to advertise or hold themselves out as a mold assessment contractor unless such contractor has a valid mold assessment license issued by the New York State Commissioner of Labor.
This training program is approved by, and meets the requirements, of the New York State Department of Labor for Mold Assessor Training required to obtain a Mold Assessor License. Upon successful completion of the course and final exam, participants will receive a certificate of completion necessary to apply for the Mold Assessor License. Full attendance of all days of the course is required to receive a certificate of completion.
Training topics include an introduction to indoor air quality, health effects of mold, regulations & guidelines, assessment, sampling and analysis practices, preparing mold remediation plans, remediation techniques and safe work practices, and post remediation assessment & clearance. The course will include presentations, demonstrations, and hands-on training.

Michael Needham, CSP, RES, CFPS, CET, Principal Consultant of the Needham Risk Management Resource Group, LLC. Michael is a professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers, a Certified Safety Professional, Registered Environmental Scientist, Certified Fire Protection Specialist, and a Certified Environmental Trainer. Michael is a Safety and Health Professional, Risk Manager and Trainer with over 25 years of industry experience in the field of environmental, health and safety.
Mark Meehan, Senior Technical Manager/Instructor, Needham Risk Management Resource Group, LLC.
Mark is a professional trainer, as well as a manager and designer of environmental projects. He coordinates and performs mold, indoor air quality and industrial hygiene investigations. Projects include management of asbestos and lead projects at federal and state offices and facilities, industrial facilities, historical buildings, apartment complexes, occupied public and private buildings and schools. Mr. Meehan has hundreds of hours of contact time teaching asbestos programming, lead safe work practices, respiratory protection, and other environmental topics to a broad variety of groups.
