Reasonable Suspicion Training for Drugs and Alcohol

$175Department of Transportation Regulations Part 382.603 require that all persons designated to supervise operators of commercial motor vehicles who hold Commercial Driver’s Licenses, receive at least two hours of training on Alcohol Misuse and Controlled Substance use. Supervisors should use this training to determine whether reasonable suspicion exists to require a driver to submit for testing. In addition, this workshop may also be valuable to any managers, administrators or professionals of an organization that has implemented a workplace drug and alcohol policy, and who could be responsible for determining whether cause exists for reasonable suspicion drug or alcohol testing.
